Service 01

AdBlue Repair

AdBlue repair means finding the specific component or condition behind a stored fault a failing sensor, a pump not building pressure, a stuck injector, a heater circuit that's dropped out, or fluid that's degraded past usable spec and fixing that, rather than working around it.

Good fit if

Full diagnostic scan, live SCR data check to confirm the cause (pump, sensor, heater, or injector), then repair of that specific component. The fault is cleared and the system verified before we finish. This is the only one of the four services that restores the SCR system to its original manufacturer function.

AdBlue Removal

AdBlue removal is the physical disconnection or removal of SCR system components including the tank, pump, injector and associated lines combined with the ECU adjustments needed so the vehicle no longer expects those components to be present.

What this changes

Once the SCR hardware is removed, the vehicle no longer has a functioning NOx after-treatment system. For Euro 6 diesel vehicles, this system forms part of the vehicle's emissions compliance, so its removal changes the vehicle's road-use compliance status and is a consideration during MOT testing.

Where this typically comes up

AdBlue removal is generally considered for vehicles that no longer operate on public roads, including off-road plant, motorsport applications, or vehicles being prepared for export to markets with different emissions requirements. For vehicles used on public roads with an AdBlue fault, repairing the underlying issue is usually the more appropriate approach.

AdBlue Delete

AdBlue delete is a software change made to the ECU that stops it from monitoring, expecting or enforcing the AdBlue/SCR strategy. The physical system may remain fitted, but the ECU no longer checks it or responds to faults generated by it.

AdBlue delete is generally considered for off-road, motorsport or other non-road-use applications, as well as certain fleet situations that fall outside normal road-use requirements. AdBlue Bypass

AdBlue bypass sits between repair and full delete. It is a targeted software adjustment that changes how the ECU responds to specific SCR conditions, such as a particular sensor threshold or dosing trigger, without disabling the entire monitoring strategy.

What this changes

Some SCR monitoring remains active, but the vehicle's response to certain fault conditions is adjusted so they no longer trigger the usual warning messages or no-start countdown behaviour. Because part of the emissions monitoring is intentionally modified, the same road-use compliance considerations apply as with AdBlue delete and removal.

AdBlue bypass is generally considered for vehicles with a specific, well-understood SCR fault where a full delete is not appropriate, but the standard monitoring response does not suit how the vehicle is being used. Common AdBlue & SCR Fault Codes Explained

A fault code tells you which part of the system flagged a problem, such as pressure, efficiency, fluid quality or a sensor circuit. It does not tell you which of the four services above is the correct solution. That can only be confirmed through a proper diagnostic, not from the fault code alone.

P20E8 Reductant pressure too low. Common causes: Pump fault, blocked filter, frozen or restricted line, or low AdBlue fluid.
P20E9 Reductant pressure too high. Common causes: Blocked injector or a faulty pressure sensor.
P20EE SCR NOx efficiency below threshold. Common causes: NOx sensor fault, degraded AdBlue quality or inconsistent dosing.
P204F Reductant system performance. Common causes: Dosing irregularity, sensor fault or injector fault.
P207F Reductant quality fault. Common causes: Contaminated AdBlue fluid, incorrect urea concentration or sensor misreading.
P203B / P203C / P203D Level sensor circuit faults. Common causes: Sensor failure, wiring fault or crystallised AdBlue buildup around the sensor.

Fault codes often appear together. For example, a sensor fault can also trigger a secondary SCR efficiency code. This is why reading a single code in isolation does not reliably identify the correct repair, delete, removal or bypass solution. A full diagnostic is needed to determine the underlying cause.
