AdBlue warning on your BMW? Countdown ticking down? Our engineers come to you anywhere in London or the Midlands, from Croydon, Barnet and Stratford to Birmingham, Coventry and Leicester. We find the fault and repair it, usually the same day, with no dealer visit and no tow truck.
We repair every diesel BMW with a factory AdBlue system, from the 116d to the X7. That covers NOx sensors, dosing pumps, heaters, level sensors, wiring and blocked injectors. BMW AdBlue repairs start from £249, and you approve the price before we start.
London traffic is hard on an SCR system. Stop start driving on the North Circular, the A406 and the M25 means short runs where the exhaust never gets fully hot. Cold mornings on the M6, M5 and M42 are when heater faults show up. We see both every week and know what to look for.
A top up warning. If it stays after filling, a sensor is at fault.
The car shows miles left before it will not start again.
The system has logged an error and needs a scan.
The engine limits power until the fault is repaired.

| Code | Fault | Usual cause | What we do |
|---|---|---|---|
| P20EE | SCR NOx catalyst efficiency below threshold | Ageing NOx sensor, worn catalyst | Test both sensors, replace the failed one |
| P204F | Reductant system performance | Blocked line or failing injector | Clean or replace the injector, clear the line |
| P20E8 | Reductant pressure too low | Worn dosing pump | Pressure test, replace the pump |
| P207F | Reductant quality or performance | Old or contaminated AdBlue | Drain, flush and refill, check the quality sensor |
| P20BD | Reductant heater control circuit open | Heater element or wiring fault | Test the heater circuit, repair or replace |
| 280F00 | NOx sensor after catalyst, signal invalid | Failing downstream sensor | Replace and code the sensor |
| 280D00 | NOx sensor before catalyst, signal invalid | Failing upstream sensor | Replace and code the sensor |
| 12C701 / 12C702 | NOx sensor heater output too low | Heater circuit fault, common on cold starts | Test the heater, replace the sensor if needed |

BMW’s AdBlue system uses a tank with a quality sensor, a heated line, a dosing pump and an injector. Two NOx sensors sit in the exhaust, one before the catalyst and one after. If any one of these parts fails, the whole system can throw a warning.
AdBlue freezes at about minus 11°C, so the line has to stay warm. When the heater circuit weakens over a British winter, the car logs a fault even though the fluid is fine.
Urea dries and hardens inside the injector if the car sits for long periods or does mostly short trips. That is a common driving pattern for BMW owners.
Bosch, Continental or VDO parts where a repair route is taken.
Coding on every job, so the SCR system relearns and the fault does not return.
Our repair work comes with a warranty. Ask us for the terms when you book.

I used this company to sort out adblue issues with my Vauxhall Combo Life, I was fed up of keep getting warning lights and threats of engine not starting if I continued to drive the car. I contacted Bolt Remaps and they came to me the same day and fixed my problems for good. Unfortunately, due to an error on my part, I overpaid, however, once they became aware of it they refunded me immediately. Both of the staff I was involved with were extremely friendly and efficient and I thoroughly recomend the company to anyone that needs help with adblue problems or engine remaps :-)![]()

Update. Unfortunately this did not help my egr issue and my poor girl still gets limp mode! Gutted!
BMW AdBlue repairs start from £249. The final price depends on the fault, because a NOx sensor, a dosing pump and a heater all cost different amounts. We scan the car first, tell you what is wrong and what it will cost, and only start work once you agree the price.
When your BMW finds an AdBlue fault it cannot clear, it counts down the miles you have left before the engine will not restart. Driving further does not fix it. The countdown only stops once the fault is repaired and the system is reset, so book before the number gets low.
The car keeps running until you switch it off. After that it will not restart until the fault is repaired and the system is reset. If you are close to zero, tell us when you call and avoid switching the engine off until you are somewhere we can reach you.
The fluid is usually fine. The car is reading a faulty level sensor, a weak pump or a failing heater and treating it as an AdBlue problem. A full tank cannot fix those, so we scan the car, find which part is at fault and repair it.
Only if the tank was genuinely low. If the warning stays after a top up, the cause is usually a sensor, pump or heater fault. Some BMWs also need a scan and a reset before the message clears, even after the fault is fixed.
Most diesel BMWs from around 2014 onward, depending on the engine and year. That covers the 1 Series to 7 Series, the X1 to X7 and some MINI diesels. Petrol BMWs do not use AdBlue. Send us your registration and we will confirm whether yours has one.
AdBlue freezes at about minus 11°C, so the tank and line have a heater. When the heater circuit weakens, the car can log a fault on a cold start and then clear once the engine warms up. It tends to come back, so it is worth repairing before it sticks.
Urea dries and hardens around the dosing injector when the exhaust does not get hot enough, which happens on short trips and after long gaps between drives. Caught early, we can clean the injector. Left too long, the line blocks and parts need replacing.
Your BMW has NOx sensors before and after the catalyst. If one reads wrongly, the car cannot trust the system, so it starts the countdown and can reduce power. We replace the failed sensor, code it to the car and road test it to confirm the fault is gone.
No. Our engineers scan the fault, repair it and code new parts at your home, work or roadside. There is no dealer appointment and no tow. Coding matters, because the car has to accept a new sensor or pump before the system works properly.
Yes. Old, diluted or contaminated AdBlue can trigger a quality fault such as P207F, even if the level looks right. We drain the tank, flush the system, refill with fresh fluid and check the quality sensor so the warning does not return.
For a short time, yes, but the countdown keeps running and some models limit power first. It is safest to book a repair while you still have plenty of miles left, instead of waiting until the car is close to refusing to restart.
Not if the real cause is fixed. Warnings return when only the symptom is cleared, for example resetting a code while a sensor is still failing. We repair the cause, reset the system and road test the car so you know it is sorted.
